Tutorial for T16D Firmware Upgrade

2. Download the Latest Firmware
Visit the RadioLink official website: https://www.radiolink.com/t16d_firmwares and download the latest firmware for the T16D. The downloaded file is a ZIP archive. After saving it to your computer, extract the contents. The extracted firmware package contains four folders: Firmware, Model, Script, and sounds.
- Firmware: Contains firmware files.
- Model: Stores model data files.
- Script: Contains Lua script files.
- sounds: Stores audio files.
- SYSTEM: System audio files.
- USER: User‑custom audio files.
Note: To keep your existing transmitter settings, do not delete the Model folder.
3. Copy the Firmware Files
- Connect to Computer: Use a USB‑C cable to connect the T16D to your computer.
- Power On in Boot Mode: Push both the Aileron Trim and Rudder Trim buttons to the center. While holding them, long‑press the Power button. Release when you hear a series of beeps.
- Enter USB Mode: The BOOT MODE screen will appear. Select USB MODE and press the Push button to confirm.
- Access the Drive: The transmitter enters USB mode, and your computer will recognize it as a removable disk.
- Update Firmware Folder:
- Delete the original Firmware folder on the T16D drive.
- Copy the new Firmware folder from the extracted firmware package to the drive.
- Update System Audio:
- Copy all files from the SYSTEM folder inside the new
sounds directory to the same path on the T16D drive. - Note: New firmware may add voice prompts that require updated audio files. Replace existing files if you want the new voice features.
4. Upgrade the Firmware
- Exit USB Mode: After copying files, press the End button to exit USB mode. Select Upgrade and press Push to confirm.
- Start Upgrade: The Upgrade MODE screen will appear. Select YES and press Push to start the firmware upgrade. The on‑screen percentage shows progress.
- Upgrade Successful: When “Firmware upgrade successful” appears at the bottom of the screen, the update is complete.
- Reboot: Press End to exit the upgrade menu. Long‑press the Power button to turn off the transmitter, then power it on again for normal use.
